Mnatha Mzayifani
Student, Writer, and athlete in Johannesburg
Hello, I’m Mnatha Mzayifani. I am an undergraduate student athlete pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Johannesburg. I also play women's rugby for the University of Johannesburg and am an aspiring sports coach and manager. As a student teacher my majors are English and History. I am also student tutor at Rand Girls High School. From a young age I have always been passionate about literature and history and it is an honor that I get to share my passion of reading and research with the bright minds that will lead the world in the future.
I am an avid reader, writer and researcher. I enjoy indulging in African literature and translated literature from around the world. As a female athlete advocating for women in sports is one of my passions. It is a dream of mine to produce national athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds, to show my learners that there is more than one way to succeed. I want to build afterschool programmes that will keep the children off the streets, help them gain skills and build their futures. As a teacher I want to one day create opportunities for learners to grow in and outside the classroom.
