Brad Thompson

I'm a first year ELL teacher in the Minneapolis school district at Lyndale Elementary, though I have had four previous years experience in the district as a special education assistant. I love working with students from different language backgrounds and really enjoy the difference in culture, language, and perspective of this student population. I'm originally from Blue Earth, MN- a small town in southern Minnesota, which you may know of only because of the 50 ft. statue of the "Green Giant" visible from I-90. I am part of a family of five. My personal interests include geography, traveling, hiking, kayaking, new foods, music and fishing. I graduated from St. Cloud State and have received licensure in ESL and Social Studies from Hamline University. I finally feel at home here in Minneapolis after a period of wandering in my early to mid-20's in which I lived in the Black Hills of South Dakota for a couple of years during college; Skagway, Alaska for three summers; Port Angeles, Washington; Duchesne, Utah. I traveled mostly during the summer of my college years, but have always come back home to Minnesota and am now very happy to call Minneapolis home!
