MNPEA Inc
Director: Mike Golen - President: Dave Deal - Legal Counsel: Rob Fowler.
The MNPEA (Minnesota Public Employees Association, Inc.) offers workers strong union representation in difficult economic times. With an initiation fee of $25 and a monthly rate of $39 thereafter, the MNPEA offers an affordable option for public employees in the state of Minnesota. The MNPEA understands the importance of union representation for people who are struggling financially. If an individual is making less than $15.60 per hour, his or her union membership rates will be reduced to accommodate the specific financial situation. The MNPEA’s rates are now set until the end of 2016. All monies accrued by the MNPEA stay within the organization rather than going to a larger national or global union. In addition, all expenditures, salaries, and benefits are transparent to the members of the union. A highly experienced team of business agents and attorneys represents MNPEA’s membership. These representatives possess a combined 50 years of experience in their respective fields. Proud to represent public employees in Minnesota, each answers directly to his or her clients. MNPEA attorneys and business agents provide legal representation in unemployment and internal affairs cases, veterans’ preference hearings, and employer investigations. Additionally, if an individual is a member of the union, he or she has the possibility of securing special discounts in personal legal matters. The MNPEA’s primary attorney, Rob Fowler, operates out of the Fowler Law Firm, L.L.C. He developed and continues to spearhead the MNPEA’s Legal Defense Plan. His focus in this role is to support Minnesota’s non-sworn public employees in their membership goals. Other MNPEA leaders include Mike Golen, the union’s first Director, and President David Deal.
