Melissa Garcia

Born and raised in San Antonio, Melissa has made Austin, Tx her home for the last 13 years. As a local resident she has managed to keep up her professional career of stage managing while working full-time for a local non-profit agency that curbs students from dropping out of public school.

Melissa has been a stage manager for the last 3 years with SXSW specifically for SXSW Music Conference and showcases at major stages including the now defunct Emos off of 6th Street in Austin, Tx. She also manages theater productions with local theaters in Austin and Georgetown, Tx.

While not working, Melissa enjoys bicycle riding around town, eating local foods, supporting local businesses, and attending shows off of Red River Music District downtown. She is also an advocate for safer pedestrian, bicycle, and driving in the city as Austin continues to grow.
