A lower Westchester County, New York, hot spot, Modern Restaurant & Lounge is a gathering place that attracts a casual, vibrant crowd each evening. Known for decades by locals as “the Modern,” or just Modern, the beloved pizza and southern Italian restaurant recently transferred from its small, intimate location to a spacious new, Manhattan-style venue with arched windows and vaulted ceilings. Favorite menu items include starters such as hot and cold antipastos, baked clams oreganata, and fried calamari arrabiata. Entrees range from hearty old world favorites such as veal parmigiana to chicken francese, a delicately battered breast sauteed in white wine, butter, and lemon.
