Moez Kassam

A venture capitalist, philanthropist, entrepreneur and hedge fund manager, Moez Kassam is currently the Chief Investment Officer at Anson Funds, an alternative asset management company that he co-founded in 2007.
Kassam helps manage $1.5 billion in assets at Anson Funds, which focuses on three primary investment strategies: value longs, classic shorts and opportunistic investments. The company offers multiple investment funds, with its flagship fund being known as the Anson Investments Master Fund, or AIMF.
Kassam is the Portfolio Manager for the Anson Investments Master Fund, seen as the company’s flagship fund. Kassam co-launched the Saunders Capital Master Fund LP in July 2007. At that time, it was a precursor to the Anson Investments Master Fund LP.
In 2018, Moez Kassam was recognized with Canada's 40 Under 40 award. In June 2020, he also became a member of the board of directors for the Canadian Olympic Committee Foundation.
Kassam also likes to stay active in his community and frequently donates time and money to Toronto-area organizations including Summerlunch+, a nutritional educational program founded by Susan Wright, MakeWay, which has over 60 community-led projects in-house and 150 donor-advised funds, the Fred Victor Center, where organizers foster long-lasting and positive change for the homeless and low-income populations living across Ontario, and many others.
Kassam’s personal foundation, named the Moez & Marissa Kassam Foundation, aims to strengthen the health and vibrancy of vulnerable communities. The foundation supports the Toronto Foundation for Student Success, Camp Oochigeas, and Doctors Without Borders.
Kassam also has a profound love of food and cooking. He frequently hosts dinner parties for friends and family, and is also an active participant in Toronto’s food scene. He’s a sitting judge for Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants and a co-creator of Assembly Chef’s Hall, one of Toronto’s best-known food halls.
Moez Kassam holds an MBA from London Business School, a BA from Western University, and has also made donations to the University of Toronto.
He lives in Toronto, Canada with his wife and children.
