​Dr. Mohamed El Hagrasy is an accomplished performing artist and academic with over four decades of experience in the theatrical arts. As a pioneer in the Independent Theatre movement, his work serves as a bridge between rigorous academic research and international artistic practice. He currently serves as a Lecturer at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Academy of Arts.

​In 2024, he was awarded a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Arts with First Class Honours, specializing in Meisner’s non-verbal expression techniques. His expertise lies in the "Visual Turn," the semiotics of non-verbal aesthetics, and contemporary physical theatre. This is

​Dr. El Hagrasy’s career is marked by significant international collaborations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. His credits include directing and training engagements with Compagnie Linga (Switzerland), (Sweden) (South Africa) and (National Theater of Mannheim, Germany), and serving as a Drama Education Expert in the UAE.
