Mohammed Ashfaq Ahmed

Passionate about helping patient’s battle kidney disease, Mohammed Ashfaq Ahmed, M.D., is a Nephrologist practicing in Houston, TX. He has been part of the Renal Specialists of Houston since 2009. Dr. Ahmed works hard to treat his patients and find the best treatment options for their kidney diseases or ailments. He has specialized in a variety of nephrological and kidney-related issues including: Glomerular/vascular disorders including patients with proteinuria and hematuria; Tubular and interstitial disorders; Hypertension; Mineral metabolism; and Chronic Kidney Disease. He also assists patients who need Dialysis, Kidney transplantation and Management of acute kidney injury/failure. Furthermore, because Dr. Mohammed Ashfaq Ahmed knows how essential nutrition is to the management of kidney disease, he advises patients on proper nutrition to slow the progression of kidney disease.

Because of his intense desire to see his patients get well and live well with kidney disease, Mohammed A. Ahmed, MD teaches them about what to do and not to do to ensure they do not put themselves at greater risk from their kidney disease.

Dr. Mohammed A. Ahmed sits as Vice Chair for the Department of Medicine at Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital in Baytown. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Pamela Heights Fresenius dialysis unit, as well as the Northeast Fresenius dialysis unit. Dr. Ahmed also worked as an Instructor from August 2005 till June 2006 during his Joint Appointment in the non-tenure track in the Department of General Internal Medicine; Division of Internal Medicine and Department of Blood & Marrow Transplantation; Division of Cancer Medicine; The University of Texas; and the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
