My name is Mohammed Shafin Ul Islam, a dedicated researcher with a passion for exploring the complexities of pharmaceutical science, Pharmacology, medicinal chemistry and molecular biology. I’m a pharmacy graduate from Southern University Bangladesh, with a curious mind and a deep passion for understanding how diseases work at the molecular level—and more importantly, how we can fight them

Now, I am working at ABCD Laboratory as a Junior Research Collaborator , over the past year, I’ve immersed myself in research that bridges traditional medicinal compounds with modern computational drug discovery. I have contributed to both in-vitro, in-vivo and in silico studies focused on phytochemicals, Pharmacology investigations as well as Drug discovery targeting in cancer.

I am committed to advancing my expertise in pharmacology , cancer biology and drug discovery, with a particular interest in the mechanisms of cell proliferation, gene mutation, and genomic instability. I have published a scientific article in Wiley Online Library and currently have three review articles under peer review, reflecting my active engagement in scholarly writing and cancer-related literature. Alongside that, I’m actively involved in writing a research manuscript focused on in-silico drug discovery approaches for cancer therapy.

My hands-on skills include working with software like PyRx, PyMOL, Cytoscape and Gaussian View, and I enjoy exploring the intersection of system biology, protein-protein interactions, and cheminformatics.

My learning hasn’t been limited to the lab—I completed a hospital pharmacy internship at Evercare Hospital Chittagong, where I gained hands-on experience in prescription analysis, medication handling, and assisting with healthcare team in preparation of chemotherapy medications. I also interned as a plant trainee at Globe Pharmaceuticals Ltd., where I worked on production, QC/QA, and formulation of dosage forms, while gaining exposure to techniques like HPLC, GC, FTIR, and dissolution testing.

I was also awarded Runner-up in a poster presentation at Dhaka University Pharma Fest2024, focused on gene mutation and cancer therapeutics.

Altogether, I see myself not just as a researcher, but as a learner and problem-solver—driven by curiosity, grounded in science, and I’m eager to contribute my skills and grow through collaboration with leading scientists who are dedicated to solving real-world health challenges.
