Molly Beth Malcolm
An alumna of the University of Texas at Austin, Molly Beth Malcolm earned her Doctor of Education degree in Educational Administration with a concentration in Community College Leadership. As Special Assistant to the President of Austin Community College, she is a member of the President's executive staff and serves as a senior advisor on a broad scope of complex issues. She represents and acts as spokesperson for the President with designated business and community leaders, government officials, education leaders, the general public, and media to advance assigned projects. She participates in community and organizational activities as an official representative of the President. A former public school teacher, Molly Beth Malcolm owned and operated Malcolm Consulting where she specialized in public policy, government relations, and community outreach prior to her work in higher education. Molly Beth Malcolm was an elected community college trustee for six years and was instrumental in founding the Community College Association of Texas Trustees. Having been elected Treasurer and Chair of the organization, Dr. Malcolm presently serves as the Immediate Past Chair. She also is the only woman ever elected Chair of the Texas Democratic Party. She has accumulated many years of civic involvement with local and statewide organizations including the Texas Lyceum, The University of Texas at Austin Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life Advisory Council, the Texarkana Junior League, and Rotary International. A Licensed Professional Counselor, Dr. Malcolm holds a Master’s degree in counseling and guidance from Texas A&M University at Texarkana and a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southern Methodist University.
