I have been fortunate enough to work in several different areas of publishing—writing, copy editing, layout, research, promotion, database management, audience development, circulation, sale implementation, website management, app/ digital edition management, marketing and strategy. It’s a wide breath of focuses, but it has enabled me to see publishing as a multi-geared watch instead of just a watch-face the many readers and publishing executive see.

This understanding pairs well with my education, by design. I ranged my course selection from web script to online marketing decisions, from usability testing to design rhetoric, from a Germany seminar focused on technological innovations to remediation.
