Monica R. Baumann was born in New Jersey in 1984. Monica started her formal studies at the age of 16 at Middlesex County College. She was accepted into an advanced art program, called “Arts High.” This offered her a young glimpse into the professional art world.
Since then, Monica has graduated from duCret School of Art and Academy duCret, in Plainfield, NJ, where she studied primarly under Timothy Jahn, Peter Caras and Frank Falotico. She has also attended the Grand Central Academy in NY where she studied with Camie Davis, Jacob Collins, Dan Thompson and Sculptor, Steven Perkins. She is currently continuing her studies at the Art Students League, NY, with Dan Thompson.
Monica is a recipient of “The American Artists Fund Scholarship Award,” “The Mary White Barrie Award” from the National Society of Arts and Letters and a Scholarship Membership from the Salmagundi Club NY. Her paintings and drawings have been shown in numerous exhibitions in New York and New Jersey.
Monica also teaches at duCret School of Art offering classes on oil painting and drawing from the model. She is a strong-willed, hard-working painter, hoping to become comparable to those great artists that live and once lived. Her work has a strong focus on beauty and harmony, pure aesthetics as they once were.
