Monica Torti is a passionate and talented Swiss guitarist, known for her expressive and musical playing.

After exploring various instruments, she devoted herself to the classical guitar in 2015 and obtained her certificate “cum laude” at the Lausanne Conservatory in 2018. She continued her studies at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne - HEMU, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 2022 and a Master in Instrumental Pedagogy in 2024, both “cum laude”. Monica is currently continuing her studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands. At the same time, she takes part in numerous masterclasses with internationally renowned guitarists such as Judicael Perroy, Zoran Dukic, Aniello Desiderio, Gabriel Bianco, Marco Tamayo, Tali Roth, Thibaut Garcia and many others.

Monica Torti has won prizes in many international competitions, notably in Switzerland and Italy, as well as prestigious prizes such as the Fritz Bach Prize 2024, the Seicorde Academy 2023, the Auditech Prize 2022 and the Paderewski Prize 2016.

As a soloist, she has been invited to perform at many renowned festivals, including the Rencontres Guitares Bulle, the Nendaz International Guitar Festival, the 6 Cordes au Fil de l’Allier Festival and the Week-end Musical de Pully. She has also performed as soloist with many ensembles such as the Villa-Lobos Concerto with the Lausanne Conservatory Orchestra, the Boccherini Quintet with the Bazzini Quartet in Brescia - Italy and with the Pulsion Quintet.

Monica performs regularly with the Akisson Duo and various chamber music ensembles, sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Thibault Cauvin and Johan Smith.

Always on the lookout for new musical experiences, Monica incorporates a looper pedal into her recitals. She has created her personal project “Identity, classical guitar and looper pedal”, a unique recital combining compositions and arrangements in a variety of styles.

Alongside her artistic career, Monica devotes herself to teaching guitar. She has worked in a number of institutions, including giving masterclasses at the MIGS Academy in Montreux and teach at the Ouest Vaudois Conservatory and many other music schools.
