As a recent graduate of the University of Houston with a major in Media Production, I have experience with single camera shooting, non-linear editing using Final Cut Pro, basic Photoshop and After Effects. I understand the hard work involved, and recognize the value of resourcefulness and teamwork in achieving goals. I have always been creative, organized and a thinker, which is why my aspiration is to get into sports television. I enjoy a challenge, and I am comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
This past year, I was fortunate to intern for two organizations to start my journey into television—Houston PBS and the Houston Rockets. I have learned valuable skills, such as writing, production, and graphics to help with my future endeavors in becoming a producer. I have learned from both internships that it is easy to specialize in one skill, but knowing every aspect of the business makes a great producer.
Along with maintaining my academics and internships, I showed leadership during college by creating and producing the first sports show for the University of Houston. This show is still in production and focuses on University of Houston athletics. Through the show, I learned PR/Marketing, Editing, Camera Operating, and Directing.
