Hello! I am Monique. I am a Grade 7/8 Guidance and Experiential Learning Teacher in the GTA. I have previously taught FSL, Special Education and Grade 5 & 6. This is my 11th year teaching, but my first year in this role.

This new role has really caused me to examine what it means to be a 21st century learner. All of the research I have done suggests that one of the primary traits that students need is the willingness to learn. 85% of the jobs that will exist in 2030 do not currently exist. Students need to be prepared to learn new skills even after they graduate. 21st century learners must be willing to collaborate, communicate effectively, think critically and independently, and be willing to adapt and change with the every evolving job market.

Part of my job is to help bring experiential learning into the classroom so that students get a better sense of who they want to become.

I am happily married, and a mother to three children aged 17, 20 & 23. I am passionate about learning new methods in education, directing musical theatre, traveling with my family, reading and baseball. Go Jays!
