Reginald Moore-El

My upbringing is not unlike millions of children in the U.S.A. I was born into acute poverty, and educated in the public school system from K-12. I began playing alto saxophone in the sixth grade under the leadership of master musician/trumpeter Paul Overby @ Pruitt Military Academy. First encouraged by my older brother Gregg Robertson-Bey; who once played the sax in middle school, I chose this instrument to pursue my musical career. During this same year I was made famous amongst my peers and teachers; on the 1st of May 1993, I was kidnapped and left for dead. Due to my saxophone playing my upper respiratory system was prepared to sustain many puncture wounds to the chest cavity. My precious adolescence has passed like seconds in a minute and each day, I've felt the longs days of pain and I sometimes wonder; who can depart from his pain without regret? The human damage inflicted upon the children of the world must be channeled and released in a healthy manner. So rather than abandoning the music I love I simply apply my energy, spirit, and fierce rage to music, creating compositions that are one of a kind or should i say truly unique. My mother and father has played the hugest part in my success as an artist and mature adult by giving me inspiration and plenty of support regardless of the cards dealt to me. With numerous years of schooling, performing at jazz jam sessions, jazz clubs, private parties, events, and venues, I've developed a skill in music composition although some may refer to it as beat making. If you listen to my product you will recognize the difference between the two. I consider what I do more in line with Beethoven, Tchaicovsky, Bach, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, etc. Moore-El Productions offers quality music at reasonable rates.
