Moorpark Krav Maga was established in 2006 to introduce the Israeli martial art of Krav Maga to the Moorpark community. Krav Maga is the primary combat system for the Israeli Defense Forces. The skills taught in Krav Maga were tightly guarded secrets held by the Israeli government for decades. Invented and battle tested by founder Imi Lichtenfield to combat Nazi-German forces in Eastern Europe during World War Two, the Israeli military adopted the system in the 1950's. Throughout the 20th century refinements were made to the system as new threats and technologies entered the modern infantry combat lexicon. Continuing to refine itself as new tactics emerge, Moorpark Krav Maga and it's affiliates constantly update the system as we feel improvments can be made. Today Krav Maga is one of the fastest growing martial arts in the world for its practical urban application. Unlike your traditional martial arts, Krav Maga is heavy on the "martial" and light on the "art".
