Morgan Burns

Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

My name is Morgan Burns and I am currently in my fourth year of my Education Degree in the Pre K – 5 Program.

I was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan but spent the majority of my life in Regina. I attended Michael A Riffel High School before being accepted into the Education program at the University of Regina. I started curling when I was ten years old I have been curling ever since. During the busy days of internship I took a back seat to competing and started coaching. Coaching curling combines two things that I love most – teaching and curling. I also enjoy reading and spending time with my family and friends. Health and fitness are extremely important to me so I try to live a very healthy life style to model for my students. I have worked as a waitress for over six years and but am looking forward to starting my teaching career.

I am very excited to be finishing up my degree after a fantastic internship experience. Through out schooling I have always wanted to be a teacher and have never seen myself in another career field. I have had both positive and negative experiences in my past that I believe have helped shaped the teacher I am becoming. Over these past four years I have grown and learnt so much about myself as a person as well as a future educator. I am excited for the new experiences that teaching will bring and learning opportunities.
