Morgan Miller

1) Are you named after anyone?

Morgan is my mom's maiden name, and Wavalan is a Native American family name that has been passed down.

2) What was the last thing you listened to?

Technically it was NPR news on the way to work this morning. Musically, the last thing was “The Basement” by Eric Hutchinson.

3) Books or TV?

Definitely books! I’m an English teacher in training, so I think I’m required by law to answer that way.

4) Hobbies?

When I’m not being consumed with work or school, I love to: hike/backpack, go to concerts, spend hours in music and discount book stores, do something crafty, go on country drives, go to the farmer’s market, spend time in the local watering holes, hang out with friends and family.

5) What's the most rebellious thing you've done?

I have (for the most part) always been a rule follower. The most rebellious thing that I can remember was when I skipped a final exam (which plummeted my grade) so that I could go to an out of town concert.

6) What's the furthest you've been away from home?

Salzburg, Austria

7) What's the best piece of advice you've been given?

"Morgan, you've got one life. Make it count." -Uncle John

8) Where is one place you want to visit?

I REALLY want to go to Seattle…like, desperately want to go to Seattle.

9) What is the worst job you've ever had?

I have had several jobs: barista, expert popcorn maker at the local cinema, lifeguard, babysitter. The WORST job I have ever had…waitressing. I lasted for about 2 hours. I quickly learned I couldn’t hang. I walked out in the middle of my shift and never looked back. It was horrible.

10) What do you want to be when you grow up?

For now, my plan is to be the best teacher I can be. I hope to inspire, educate and make a difference in student's lives. Ideally, I would love to take my passion for education and traveling and join them together. I always thought working with an educational service organization abroad would be awesome.
