Hey, I’m Lars. I have been working with computers pretty much my whole life. Starting in Sweden in 1992 I got involved with managing a database for a small company as a side job while in school. The same year I started programming using Symantec Think C compiler on a Mac LC II. My initial programming interest was simulations of N-body particle systems. A few years later I would start my university studies in electrical engineering and physics leading up to a MS degree in 2000. With the money earned on the side while attending university I traveled to America in August 2000 to find a job and after a few months I found one. I had to wait 6 additional months for my H1B work visa and was finally ready to start work on 30 April 2001. My first employment was at the world's first commercial laser company Spectra-Physics, started in 1969 where I worked as a project manager and software engineer. I managed the product development of a diode laser system where one of the customers included a NASA contractor using it for repair work on the space shuttle. Throughout my employment I worked in the electrical engineering department. In capacity as software engineer, I developed a communications protocol with priority scheduling inspired by the NASA Apollo guidance computer. I implemented this protocol in several of the company's software products and I was involved in the majority of the company's OEM software products. After working 5 years in America I moved to Europe and started working in the Fintech industry in London, England where I worked with network programming and low latency electronic trading systems. I really enjoyed working with the challenge of producing high-performing native code executing in a predictive manner, key stuff when your code needs to crunch billions of socket events in a single day. After 5 years in the Fintech industry in Stockholm and London I started working on my own startup project where I focus on innovation. My other interests include running, photography and windsurfing.
