After graduating from LSU in 2011, I entered the oil patch as a Field Engineer for Weatherford International in South Texas. I wore many hats at Weatherford including managing a cased hole wireline crew as a Senior Field Engineer working in the Eagle Ford shale play as well as instructing Junior Field Engineers at their training facility in Fort Worth.
After wearing flame retardant coveralls while working in the suffocating heat of South Texas for too many summers, I decided to move on and to learn offshore drilling technology. I am currently working as an Engineer for Seal-Tite International in Madisonville, Louisiana.
Aside from work, I enjoy spending time hunting, fishing, and working cattle on my family's ranch north of Houston. Not only is it a great way to spend time with family, but also a great way to decompress from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of my favorite pastimes is sports, from watching football to playing recreational softball. My greatest athletic accomplishment has been training and competing in a half marathon. Building endurance for distance running was challenging physically but fascinating philosophically as long runs gave me great times for introspection and imagination. Running also allows me to push myself physically while clearing my head mentally.
Another of my favorite activities is traveling abroad and the thrill of immersing myself in diverse cultures and their people. In high school I worked most of each summer to finance backpacking trips to Hawaii, Costa Rica, and New Zealand. In college, I worked to fund my passion for finding fresh powder lines in the Canadian and Chilean backcountries. I also live for live music, particularly the likes of The Allman Brothers, Phish, and Widespread Panic to name a few, and try to catch as many concerts and evening shows as possible. Whether at Red Rocks, The Gorge, Jazzfest, or the many places in between, I love good music.
