Marc Green

Borehamwood

I am Marc Green with a "c" as opposed to with a "k". I never thought anything of it until Facebook came along and made it an issue. Then bam I find out that there are more Marc Greens with a "c". My parents lied to me! They told me I was unique....so here I am just one of many. So what defines me as someone a little bit different, a stand-out from the crowd. Well it used to be my weight - I was B I G - yes in capitals because I was that man you hoped was not going to sit next to you on the bus / train / plane. I was Mr 2 Seats until I had a gastric bypass and now I am Mr " I can buy clothes off the rack" rather than "I buy clothes by the metre". For the records, I like to think of myself as creative....I have written three and a half books but across around fifteen different novels. This means I have loads of great starts and just a few middles but absolutely no "ends". I also write poetry but most of it is too good for the internet so I leave it hidden in encrypted hard drives hidden in a secret location in the Negev. I am a phenomenal sportsman - from the couch of course but nevertheless I was once semi-decent. Most of this semi-decency was at a time before YouTube so thankfully I only am able to brag about it and hope all the others who were involved have either Alzheimer's or short term memory loss. I love music - yes all kinds of music. I believe every artist has a redeeming track lurking somewhere in their back-catalogue and so it is always worth trawling through to find it. Yes even Vanilla Ice even if I haven't found it yet. Still, someone loves him even if it is only his mum and Adam Sandler. I love films - yes I know everyone likes films but I really like films. To prove it I would like to submit in evidence of this love - m'lud - the great love of French movies. From "Romuald et Juliette", "Diva", the "Trois Couleurs" series, up to a real new favourite "Untouchable", the French make films no one else can. I submit in evidence the great remakes "My Father The Hero" a remake of "Mon père, ce héros" - need I say more? I also like English stuff as well....my favourite film of all time is of course the classic "Risky Business" starring Shakespearean actors extraordinaire Tome Cruise, Curtis Armstrong and semi naked Patricia Arquette. "Arquette - there can be no substitute" or something like that! Then of course there is family - family is everything. Wife and daughter are the best things in my life - closely followed by my demented hound Rufus of course. My wife - whose name cannot be mentioned as we are under contract from a well known magazine, is my teenage bride. As I get older she seems to get younger. I think Edgar Allan Poe wrote about this. My daughter who is named after Dr Marc Green's daughters in ER (look it up on IMDB) is an absolute beauty. Thankfully she takes after her mum. We do a lot of stuff together and we are blessed with an extended family that are all very close with my brother's family and brother-in-law's family all closely knit with ours. I work is as a fundraiser for various charities. I like being involved in something that makes a difference - not just putting money into shareholders bank accounts. Charity work allows you to see the fruits of your labour and I really like that. So if I had to sum up myself in three words I would not. I am so much more than three words - perhaps even six might not be enough. For the record verbose might be one, creative two (too) and in third might be fun - but for those of you who know me then let us have a beer (or fruit juice flavoured vodka beverage) and you can give me a few words that I can add.
