Currently, I am a research assistant and a PhD student with the Geomatics Engineering Department in the University of Calgary. I am interested in the use of low-cost MEMS inertial sensors in navigation and positioning, indoors navigation, and collaborative navigation and mapping.
Before joining the University of Calgary, I was a Staff Design Engineer with Si-Ware Systems, a fabless semiconductor design company, located in Cairo, Egypt. During my tenure there, I designed several ASICs for inertial sensors, and other MEMS based sensors, like spectrometers.
I am interested in promoting STEM education between the middle and high-school students in Egypt. I worked with several students in the framework of FIRST Lego League in Egypt. One of the teams I worked with made it into the world finals in the US, in 2011.
