David Levine

David Levine is a technology entrepreneur focused on clean energy, geospatial analysis, data visualization and social commerce. Mr. Levine pioneered big-data geomatics to make maintaining a sustainable lifestyle as easy, affordable and convenient as online searching, shopping and sharing.

He serves as Chairman and CEO of Geostellar, a company he founded in February 2010, now the leading solar energy marketplace.

From 2006 to 2010, David served in senior executive capacities with geospatial analytics company Lanworth, now part of Thomson-Reuters, Sewall, an engineering, remote sensing and natural resource management firm, and ImageTree, a LiDAR-based forest biomass computation platform.

David worked in the public sector directing technology-based economic development for the Governor Manchin administration in West Virginia and served as Executive Director of the National Technology Transfer Center.

Between 1992 and 2005, David founded and led as CEO Gamebryo (formerly Emergent Game Technologies and Butterfly.net), a video game technology company, Ultraprise Corporation, a secondary market mortgage loan exchange, and HuskyLabs, declared by WebWeek to be the world's first dedicated Web design and Internet integration firm.

Mr. Levine presenter a paper at the First International Conference on the World Wide Web at CERN Particle Physics Lab, received a patent for the first whole loan exchange, and wrote one of the first books on the Java programming language, Live Java: Database to Cyberspace.

Mr. Levine graduated from Yale University with a degree in Philosophy and was awarded the Rackham Memorial Fellowship in Poetry at the University of Michigan.

Between 1986 and 1991, David performed as the front-man for the band Senator Flux, releasing 4 full-length CDs and LPs on international music labels, touring in the US, Canada and Europe and being featured on MTV's 120 Minutes.

David resides in the woods on the river with his long-suffering wife, three gorgeous, talented and brilliant children, occasional foreign exchange student, and Loki the wonder dog. He enjoys riding his motorcycle on small winding roads, river floats, local bluegrass music and writing software specifications in cucumber.
