Motshidisi Thekiso

Student, Teacher, and Volunteer in Johannesburg

I firmly believe that my purpose is rooted deep within the fields of teaching and psychology. I am a prospective teacher and aspiring Educational Psychologist. It all began with my Schizoaffective late mother and being a brilliant and bright learner throughout my childhood. I believe that every child deserves an opportunity to learn regardless of their background or existing neurodevelopmental disorders. Choosing a career can be challenging, I aim to assist the learners I will be assigned to teach in high school to choose careers that are aligned to their abilities and their passion, so that they do not get lost while trying to do meaningful things that will also be beneficial to their growth. It took me a year of studying Bachelor of Arts in Psychology to realise that I actually love the learning part of psychology, I then switched to Bachelor of Education, but I still major in Neurodevelopmental Learning Needs which equips me with information on how to address and support learners with special needs or learning disorders holistically. A teacher's success is measured by that of the learners he/she teaches I therefore hope that all learners I teach will succeed and achieve all they work and hope for and I also hope to be a source of hope for them.
