Peter is a visionary entrepreneur, with a forward-looking eye for untapped business opportunities–and a lifelong passion for chocolate.
In 1998, when businesses were going to China to find low-cost goods to export, he co-founded Cowboy Candy Company, a confectionery business focused on serving the local Chinese consumer market (today, the world's 4th largest). Now, he's launching Voilà Chocolat in New York City–a new retail consumer experience brand with a bold vision: to redefine consumers' relationship with chocolate by helping them create and personalize the fine chocolates they already love.
Peter gained his knowledge of food marketing and distribution over 8 years in the food business in China–first, at Cowboy Candy and later at the USDA's Agricultural Trade Office in Shanghai. He has converted his love of chocolate into hands-on professional expertise in bean-to-bar manufacturing and making high-end artisanal chocolate confections. Peter is a certified chocolatier and has studied chocolate-making in Costa Rica, at Ecole Chocolat, and at the French Culinary Institute in New York City. He is a member of the Fine Chocolate Industry Association.
Peter honed his business skills during a 10-year corporate career that started with earning his MBA from Columbia University. At Booz & Co., he was a highly successful strategy management consultant to clients in the consumer goods, retail, and financial services sectors. He later applied his strategic thinking and operational knowledge at UBS, where he led all large-scale growth and transformation programs for the wealth management business, and at Bridgewater Associates, where he managed the operations and strategic transformation of the founder's family office.
As founder and CEO of Voilà Chocolat, Peter is building a team of partners and fellow investors, and looks forward to sharing with them the happiness of chocolate, the thrill of creativity, and the fruits of this excellent business opportunity.
