Hi, I’m Moyez Ladhani. I’m a medical doctor specializing in pediatrics. Presently, I practice as a Consultant Pediatrician at two different clinics: Waterdown Pediatrics in Waterdown, Ontario, and Pediatric Urgent Care in Oakville, Ontario. I also serve as Chair of the Royal College Pediatric Exam Board and sit on the Pediatric Specialty Committee and the Examination Committee for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. I’m also a member of the Planning Committee for the Canadian Pediatric Society’s National Conference.

In the past, I held several roles in the academic world, serving as a clinician educator at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario for more than 20 years. During that time, I occupied multiple roles. Clinically, I served as Deputy Chief for the Division of General Pediatrics from 2003 to 2016. Academically, I served on numerous education committees and held many leadership positions. Notably, I was the Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program, a position I held for more than a decade. After that, I was appointed as the Director of Competency-Based Medical Education, Postgraduate Medical Education from 2018 to 2020. During my tenure, I was fortunate enough to be promoted to a full Professor.

Between the years of 1997 and 2021, I also performed clinical work as an Academic Consultant Pediatrician at McMaster Children’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Healthcare, both of which are in Hamilton.

I have earned several awards for my work. Some of these include the Postgraduate Medical Education Faculty Award for Excellence and Innovation in Residency Education as presented by McMaster University in 2017, the Program Director of the Year Award as presented by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2016, and the Clinical Educator Award presented by the Canadian Pediatric Program Directors organization, also in 2016.

Regarding formal education, I completed my Medical Doctorate at the University of Toronto in 1989, followed by a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto and a further residency in Pediatrics at Queens University and Dalhousie University. I augmented my clinical training by earning a Master of Science degree in Health Science Education from McMaster University in 2014.

When I’m not performing my duties, I volunteer with the Future Ready Initiative, a program that provides professional support to at-risk individuals who want to transform their lives and those of their families for the better.
