Mark Paterson

I'm British and live in New Orleans having spent most of my 20s travelling and working abroad. My life seems to be a constant struggle against the conventional world and therefore with myself. The grand gestures we make for trivialities, the compromises against our truest selves and the sacrifices we make for the fear of dying impoverished - it all reduces this fragile coffee break of a life into vapours. It has been said that the unexamined life is not worth living and when I look upon mine I'm forced out onto the road.
