LIVING MY DREAM

My Name is Melvin Coleman and I am a photographer. In 2014 I decided to travel through North, Central, and South Americas and photograph my journey. It’s now 2017 and that moment has arrived. There have been some setbacks along the way, but like any train leaving the station, it starts slow but eventually gains speed.

I thought it would be great to journal my travels with family and friends via social media. I wanted people to get the opportunity to see what I was seeing and experience what I was experiencing in real-time.

I created a WordPress blog that catalogs the process and processes that I had to go through to make this venture a reality. In doing so I had to open up and allow my truth(s) to be seen by many people, no easy task for a person who likes his privacy but a necessary one. I thought it would show there is nothing too impossible to accomplish if you had the desire.

In allowing this process to come about naturally I'm finding out a lot about myself; my strengths, my weaknesses, my values, and my overall character. I found out I wasn’t the person I thought I was. You’ll have to read my blog postings for more insight.

That’s when “LIVING MY DREAM” was born. This process made me take a look at other people in pursuit of achieving their dreams as well and at that moment, LIVING MY DREAM became more universal for me.

I wanted to create a place where people could share how they are living their dreams so, I've created a FACEBOOK page where people could share their dreams with others. The goal is to encourage others to live their dreams as well.

I hope you take this journey with me and others who have shared their stories. Who knows maybe we can meet up get a cup of coffee or even share a meal as we sit and share our stories and have a laugh or two.
