Welcome!
My name is Michael. I am a junior accounting major in Isenberg School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Over the past 2 summers I have worked as a pool maintanence technician My neighbor owns the business and I work along side him, opening and closing pools, doing repairs, cleaning systems, and etc. This has also allowed me to improve my customer relations skills working with clients to provide the best quality service.
My passion is accounting. I learned my liking for accounting in high school when I took my first course in it. Ever since then, I always had a knack for accounting. My goals with accounting are to succeed in my current courses, graduate with a high major GPA and get my CPA. Once I become a certified public accountant, I aspire to work in public accounting at one of the Big Four accounting firms. To do this my goals are to get an internship within the field of accounting to get some first hand experience.
Within Isenberg I have furthered my accounting knowledge not only with course work but also through many clubs. I am very active in Beta Alpha Psi, which is a business fraternity that is focused on providing networking opportunies, recruiting and meeting proffessionals. This organziation not only helps you professional but also is very active in community service. Upcoming in Novmeber we are doing a Bowlaton with the Big Brother Big Sister organization. I am also active in the Accounting Association Attend which provides various speaker forums, programming, and social events to increase knowledge of issues, trends, and opportunities within the accounting realm.
My future plans are to travel throughout Europe once I graduate. I have always loved traveling so my goals are to encompass that with accounting by getting a job that will allow me to travel and work.
