Michael Pope

Michael Popeserves as Managing Director at Vert Capital, a boutique merchant bank with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Berlin. Mr. Pope manages portfolio holdings across various industries including consumer products, education technology and digital media. As a buy-side specialist, Mr. Pope has lead the acquisition of over 50 companies in 5 countries. Mr. Pope brings specific experience with mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, management buy-outs and corporate divestitures.

Mr. Pope also serves as President at Boxlight, a global provider of education technology solutions, and Executive Chairman of 400 Beverly, a beauty and fashion retailer.

Prior to joining Vert Capital, Mr. Pope served as Chief Operating Officer for the Taylor Family, managing Utah holdings in consumer products, digital media, education, consumer finance and professional services.

Mr. Pope also held positions as President at Viximo, Chief Financial Officer at Bebo, Sr. SEC Reporting accountant at Omniture and Assurance Associate at Grant Thornton.

Mr. Pope maintains an active CPA license and holds board positions with various organizations including Poolworks, ShareRails, PixelMags, The School Fund and the BSA Great Salt Lake Council. Mr. Pope is also a subject matter expert on business acquisitions and divestitures and is a frequent presenter on the matter.

Mr. Pope earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University with academic honors. He resides in New Canaan, CT.
