But the million dollar question is what after that?
They say, "New year is a new beginning, a fresh start to things which need to be done." Many start writing a diary, make list of resolutions etc,etc... But then why it is that our diary is fortunate till first 4-5 days if not less and why it is that our list of resolutions is identical every year!
Maybe because after few days we realize writing a diary or making resolutions is essentially for carrying out change in ourselves. And to get away with the pain of writing diary everyday or following resolutions against our will, we ACTIVATE our ego, recall some sentences from films and we tell to ourselves "Why should I change?, People should like/love me the way I am. I am not going to change for anyone else."
Good excuse, isn't it?
The thing is every person has a 'DARK side if not it then we have things which we don't want in ourselves' which generally we don't want to show to world outside, and each one of us want to change or get away with it. But CHANGE has never been sweet even if it is for good.
Yes, I know we have been bombarded with such things right from our childhood by our parents, teachers, profs, friends a dozens of times and with the time we have learnt, "It doesn't work." But what we can do from our side is we can put first step then try for second and then third.....lets see how far we can go?
Recently I watched a English movie named 'Bridget Jone's diary', a good (open for debate) comedy movie which entitles the same. Bridget Jone , poor girl who finally gets it RIGHT.
Why not make this day "01.01.11″, the day when I started making things right.
YES, certainly this day, THE NEW YEAR's DAY is a special one and needs celebrations or we can make it special and celebrations worth by making right choice !!!
