Curtis Wiebe is a Grade 4 & 5 Teacher at Morgan Elementary, in the Surrey School District.

He spent two years transforming the library into a learning commons at Strawberry Hill Elementary as the Teacher-Librarian. He continues his professional development through technology, exploration and education; presenting at the 2015 BCTLA Conference and Surrey Schools’ Ignite Nights – “Engaging the Digital Learner: Learning by Design.”

A 2014 graduate of the UBC BEd. Elementary Program in the Personalized Learning and Technology Cohort; he was awarded the Dean of Education Scholarship and Outstanding Practicum Award for exemplary coursework and practicum studies.

His Community Field Experience with Parks Canada at Fort Langley centred on redeveloping the First Nations Challenge Program. He was a member of the UBC delegation attending the WestCAST Conference in Winnipeg, exhibited tech-teaching methods within UBC's Scarfe Foyer under the “Tech in Transit” series, and was a co-presenter on technology in the classroom at UBC’s 2014 and 2016 I.O.P. Conference.

Curtis has spoken at numerous UBC Alumni and Faculty of Education events, as well as taking on the “Master of Ceremonies” role at the UBC Faculty of Education UBC 100 – Year of Alumni Gala.

A Twitter aficionado, he uses it in his learning commons to connect with authors, role models for students, industry game changers, and fellow educators all over the world for a global perspective on learning.
