Hello, my name is Megan Reddington! I am a sophomore in the Kogod School of Business at the American University in Washington, DC.

I think it is important to tell you something about myself, including a brief summary of my achievements and skills to date and how they will also contribute to achieving my life and career goals in conjunction with my college experience.

Leadership Skills
• Member of the Nassau County, New York, Youth Board -- Created a hate crime workshop in conjunction with the Nassau County Police Department and presented it to after-school programs.
• Elected as a Long Island representative to meet with New York State senators to discuss funding for youth boards throughout the State and was successful in achieving this goal.
• Captain of Garden City Swim Team, coordinating a team of 40 girls.

Personal Skills
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
• Studied Spanish and Latin languages and participated in national language exams.
Experience
• Internship with Congressman Dan Kildee of Michigan.
o Responded to constituent phone calls and mail on a variety of public issues;
o Learned how to deal diplomatically with irate and demanding constituent complaints;
o Research pending bill proposals and prepared drafts for co-sponsor recommendations, such as Congressman Jerry Nadler’s Pregnant Woman’s Fairness Act.
