Kyle Taylor is a leading expert in digital democracy reform, platform regulation, and the intersection of technology and society, with nearly two decades of experience in these fields. He is the creator of the best-selling Little Black Book series, which includes Data and Democracy, Social Media, AI, and The Populist Right, with additional titles forthcoming.

Kyle founded Fair Vote UK in 2017, spearheading investigations into the EU referendum and supporting whistleblower revelations around Cambridge Analytica’s global data misuse. Fair Vote UK continues to provide evidence and policy guidance on election integrity and big tech regulation in the UK, EU, and US. He also serves on the steering committee of the Global Alliance Against Digital Hate & Extremism and is a member of the Coalition for Independent Tech Research and the Christchurch Call Advisory Network.

He was the Campaign Director and Chief of Staff to a UK government minister and has worked on multiple election campaigns in the UK and USA. He also served as the founding project director of The Real Facebook Oversight Board, a global accountability initiative focused on tempering social media’s power.

Kyle holds two bachelor’s degrees from The American University, a master’s degreefrom the London School of Economics, and a second master’s degreefrom ICU, all in areas relevant to disinformation and democracy.

Kyle has lived on four continents and traveled to over 120 countries. He is an endurance fundraiser, having run the London Marathon, swum an open-water marathon across the English Channel, and summited Mount Kilimanjaro twice, raising over $50,000 for various charities.

He recently completed a Visiting Fellowship at the Peace Centre in Tokyo, Japan, where his research focused on how social media impacts human rights and facilitates conflict globally. Kyle recently launched Resistance Hub, aimed at supporting civil society in exile to counter the growing tide of authoritarianism in democratic countries.
