Philip Kampf

The Man and His Magic

For the past 30 years, The Magical Fun & Comedy of Philip Kampf has touched both the corporate and private sectors, making him Houston’s #1 choice for professional magical entertainment. From a corporate show to a child’s birthday party, Philip has made every event a first-class happening.

Born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio, his first introduction to magic came at the age of nine when his father took him to a Christmas party held by the local barbers’ union featuring a magician. Encouraged to develop his interest through library books, it only took three short years before he was performing professionally for birthday parties and is now performing over 300 birthday parties annually. During his teen years Philip was active in the theater by participating in Hal McCuen’s Children’s Theater, Youth Theater, and the Mansfield Playhouse. After graduation from high school, he returned to Children’s Theater as the only Technical Director to receive the highest honor, the Glenn Hoffman Memorial Award.

Applying the skills he learned from acting and the technical field, Philip relocated to Houston, Texas, in 1981 and founded Magic Street Productions, a production company that offers the finest in professional family and children’s entertainment. Phil conducts a summer magic camp every year for kids 8 and older and also offers Saturday Morning MagicWorkshops.

Philip performed as a Close-up Magician as well as Technical Consultant at Houston’s late great major entertainment complex, Magic Island

In January 2008, he debuted as the main headliner performing his Dove Act and Comedy Magic Show and has returned several times that year for a total of a 14-week run. In 2011 Philip started headlining at Houston's Improv and will be a regular for their Saturday Afternoon programs.

In 2013 Philip performed at the Texas Renaissance Festival as Mordred the Wizard and has been asked to return for the 2014 Season.
