Elizabeth (Beth) Ericson

I am currently the District Administrator at York Public Schools overseeing special education, school improvement, and curriculum. I have held this position for the past two years. Prior to coming to York, I was an Elementary Principal for five years and taught in the elementary classroom for eight years. Currently I am a member of the Council of Exceptional Children (CEC), Nebraska Association of Special Education Supervisors (NASES), Nebraska Association of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (NACIA), Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Professionally I have served on the Nebraska Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Region I board as President, and have been involved in the newly created NACIA board. My education philosophy is that all students deserve to have positive adults in their lives with a purposeful plan to help them meet their potential. In York, we focus a great deal on 21st Century Learning skills, and how to embrace social media and tools to engage our students in "their" world, while teaching them the ways to use all that is at their fingertips appropriately to advance themselves and mankind. I am active on Twitter and would love for you to follow me. My Twitter name is @mrsbethericson. I am also a mother to three wonderful daughters and the wife of an amazing husband. Thanks so much for your consideration for me to serve the Nebraska ASCD association in the capacity as a board member. I truly look forward to this opportunity.
