High School Teacher-Business Education

• While attending college, I worked in the banking industry as a Teller Supervisor and New Account Representative. Upon graduation from the University of North Texas, I was fortunate to find a position with (the former) Texas Bank as a Training Specialist. I spent 5 years teaching adults, and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the training and development field. Then, after a series of events, including the birth of my daughter, a relocation, and several bank mergers, I decided that it was time for me to pursue another career, and I was looking for a place where I felt I could "make a difference" (as cliche as that may be. I had tutored several individuals and discovered that just by helping them master a few basic skills they had missed during their school years, I could help them to obtain a position in the career field of their choice. I then went back to school to obtain an Alternative Teaching Certification in Business Education. I am now in my 8th year teaching business education courses in the secondary environment. I feel extremely blessed to be able to work with young people, spending each day helping them gain the skills they need to become productive and successful individuals inside the workplace and in life.
