Robert Marcus

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa on the cusp of Northeastern(NYC) and Midwestern(Chicago) culture and the beneficiary of a great public school education including music; went to the ORIGINAL Brandeis U(sex, drugs, REAL folk music, and TRUTH EVEN UNTO ITS anti-establishment INNERMOST PARTS! plus excellent professors and classmates incl.Angela Davis, a co-worker at Cholmondeley's coffee house! Yeah, with poetry read by Allen Ginsburg, Dick and Mimi Farina (Joan in the audience. . .)On to NYC and work with Lindsay and Herman Badillo in Urban Renewal while studying Soc. of Knowledge wiith Albert Salomon, a sudent of Kurt Mannheim, at the New School's University in Exile, two years in the Army, most at Ft. Devens Mental HygieneClinic counseling, among others , Army Security agts returning from 'Nam... the Florence Heller School at Brandeis. Now retired from a carrer working on behalf of people whose disabilities (mental, developmental, mobility, sensory . ) exacerbated by stigma, ignorance, poverty and indifference have precluded their pursuits of Life, Liberty and Opportunity; I enjoy my marriage to Susan Phillips, an "eishas chay'l" (look it up; it's hebrew!) who's a writer, teacher, photographer and my most significant other! And I enjoy the legacy of my son, Aaron,an attorney, who practices righteousness in his defense of persons according to their Constitutional rights, regardless of the prejudices and popular opinions of the times. He has found a partner, also a writer, who appears to be as wonderful a companion for him as my Susie for me! I continue to blow my own horn (literally, a '57 Bach Stradivatius trumpet) in two concert bands (go to CONCORDBAND and Lexbicband webpages) I attend Temple BethEl of the Sudbury Valley because it's the most diverse Jewish intellectual/political bunch of Jewish and semi-Jewish characters you'd want to spend a Saturday morning arguing Torah and Talmud's relevance for today's world.
