Marko Russiver is a co-founder of Guaana, a hackathon and ideation platform. He is one of the drivers of #theglobalhack #hackthecrisis hackathon movement and a TED speaker.

In the last years, Marko has been working closely with research organizations and government entities including CERN, ESA, European Commission, and UAE Government, exploring practices that empower researchers and as a result designing a centralized platform for funding open research globally. Over the years Marko has gathered an extensive advisory of government officials, creatives, venture capitalists and scientists from around the world who work with him as an extended think-tank.

Before founding Guaana, Marko was an ADC awarded creative director with 15 years of experience in strategy and service design. As a hobby, he has designed over 130 books as he is an avid reader since his young age.

Marko was nominated for MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35 Europe 2018 Awards (he believes someone made a mistake somewhere, mixed up e-mails or something), Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Swedish Business Awards and portrayed in Inc Arabia Magazine following Guaana’s participation to the Dubai Future Accelerator.

He is also part of a European Commission Next Generation Internet roundtable, and Member of the Advisory Board at Accelerate Estonia.
