Mahlatse Jane Sekgobela

Student and tutor

Greetings, I am Jane, a dedicated Bachelor of Education student in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Teaching, specialising in Mathematics and Life Sciences. My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that learners learn best when they are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, connect their learning to their reality, and participate actively.

Alongside my studies, I work as a Life Sciences tutor, where I support students in understanding complex biological concepts and achieving their academic goals. This experience has strengthened my belief that effective teaching goes beyond delivering content. Teaching involves creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment where every learner feels valued and empowered to reach their potential.

Beyond academics, I enjoy reading and knitting, activities that encourage creativity, patience, and continuous learning. I also have a keen interest in gardening, which reflects my appreciation for growth and sustainability.

As an aspiring educator, I am committed to continuous professional development and to making a meaningful contribution to the field of education through dedication, empathy, and passion for lifelong learning. I look forward to building a career where I can inspire, empower, and positively influence the lives of young people while contributing to the advancement of quality education.
