Erin O'Reilly

I'm an Adjunct Professor in the Teaching and Learning department at the University of Montana's College of Education. I teach courses in our Teacher Education Program for preservice teachers. I am also a full-time graduate student attending the working on my Doctor of Education (Ed.D), in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education.

My courses include Ethics and Policy Issues, Educational Psychology and Measurements, Methods for Social Studies, and seminars for our secondary teacher candidates in their Level 1 and Level 2 field experiences.

My work with teacher candidates focuses on preparing them for their field experiences and mentoring students to better prepare them for their first years of teaching. I collaborate with practitioners, community partners, and researchers to better understand the professionalization process of an effective educator and improve our practices to meet the needs of the profession. This work provides me with research opportunities that inform practices in teacher education, educational leadership programs, and professional development.

I am a passionate, driven, professional educator who believes in the tireless journey to ensure all learners have equitable access to learning experiences unique to each learner and their needs. I collaboratively work with a wide variety of partners in education including educators, leaders, researchers, families, students, and communities to reimagine learning. This includes our physical spaces, curriculum, instruction, and the role of technology. We work together to develop engaging and powerful learning experiences. We work to build and sustain cultures and conditions for innovation and change through systems focused on community, identify, language, and practice.
