This photo is of me performing the opening number of the 2012 Drama Desk Awards at Town Hall in NYC. I was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical for my solo portrayal in THE DEVIL's MUSIC: The Life & Blues of Bessie Smith where I also served as Musical Director/Arranger. I also won nominations from Lucille Lortel, Audelco (Best Solo Show) & Off Broadway Alliance (Special Event). Our one year run of TDM closed July 1, 2012 at St. Luke 's Theatre on Restaurant Row in NYC & was capped by a one week run at the Montreal Jazz Festival in Quebec, Canada July 2-7, 2012. We're opened at the Cleveland Playhouse in February 2013, are booked at Peoples Light in PA & MerriMack in MA. I have just been cast in The Tempest opening in Vegas 4/2014 co-directed by Aaron Posner & Teller of "Penn & Teller". I am featured on 2 James Carter CD's "Gardenias For Lady Day" & "At The Crossroads" & have my own CD Diva Out Of Bounds-Ms. Miche on iTunes. My other passions are my design houses which consist of AFRIMONO Couture, ROCKY DOG PRODUCTS & XENA TOO (dog clothing), & I AM HOME - INTERIOR AFRIMONO (home accessories).
