I picked Achiever as my strength. I feel that this is what really describes me, and has been a noticeable quality in my personality. To me, it means that I have a great amount of drive, ambition, and perseverance. I want to always accomplish something, whether it be a small victory or achieving a large goal I set for myself. I identify with it most because it has been present throughout my entire life. Partially, my parents encouraged me to be an achiever, but it is a strength within me too. It’s something that almost all of my teachers, coaches, and instructors use to describe me. I believe it impacts my life in such a positive way. In terms of academics, it drives me to get good grades and always step up to a challenge. In high school, I always wanted to take the hardest classes I could. The achiever strength helps me with my personal goals because it helps me to have the discipline to work for whatever I’m trying to accomplish, and push through it when faced with adversity. It helps me in my social life so I am not shy, and I am constantly looking to meet new people and pursue new friendships.
The curriculum plan assignment actually helped to relieve a lot of my stress concerning my future. We had to plan out what classes we were going to take this year and next year, and what each of them represented in terms of gen-eds or major courses, etc. I found out that I have to take biology and chemistry next semester as well as the second series of each in the summer to apply for my major on time. I also figured out I would need to take MOLBIOC my sophomore year. By doing these two years, it gave me the motivation to plan all four years. This helped me realize that I will be able to finish in four years, because I was convinced that I wouldn’t be able to. It also forced me to pick out a back-up major in case I don’t get into HPNES, which I don’t know if I would have done without this assignment.
The dream job assignment was a short easy one, but I feel as if it benefited from it more than I expected. We had to search a site for a job that sounded appealing to us. I love my major, and I’m very excited for the classes I will get to take if I get in, but I’m not quite sure what I would want to do with it. I’m in ROTC, so I will be in the Army after I graduate, but I won’t be in forever. I need to find a job that I want when I get out, and I had really no clue what I wanted to do. Looking on the website I found something called a Wellness/Fitnes
