Wow. My alarm went off this morning at 8:15 just as it does every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning to help me make it up the hill to Park Hall and my English 1101 class. As I dragged my weary bones out of the bed and down the hall into the shower, I had this thought: there are only two weeks of classes left in my freshman year. I had made the transition from my military town of Warner Robins, Georgia to this massive 759-acre main campus area and just when I felt like I was getting settled, it’s all over. I left my home with just my mother and father in it to live on the sixth floor of Creswell where 35 guys live on one hall. I am leaving behind all the walking, the partying, the studying (oh, man, the studying), and the friendships…until next semester. Next semester provides me with the opportunity to meet even more people, to study even more, to party even more.
I am going back home to my sleepy military town to live with my parents and take a summer class at a local community college. Living with my parents, high school all over again. I am an only child and so all of the attention will be all on me all over again. This can be good (I am the only child my parents have to get things for at Christmas), and bad (when I get in trouble, theres no siblings to take the heat off me).

Being an only child did not prepare me for the Creswell life whatsoever. I have to see these guys every day, share a big bathroom with them, basically always be around them. However, I found that living in the dorms was such a fun experience that I want to do it again and I will be living in Vandiver Hall next semester with threee of my friends. I cannot wait to come back next semester and take on all the challenges sophomore year has to throw at me.
