Mthunzi Hlengwa
Student in Gauteng
My name is Mthunzi Hlengwa, a 3rd year education student at the University of Johannesburg. I am originally from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Being an educator has always been my dream. I remember when I was young, I would teach trees and other objects. It brings me joy when I explain something to someone and they actually understand it. I believe in a leaner-centered approach. Allowing my learners to be active participants in the process.
I further believe in authentic learning by teaching my learners information that they can use in real-life scenarios. I believe in teaching learners how to think, not what to think, thus helping them reach conclusions on their own. I promote critical thinking skills and other skills required by the 21st century. I am a fan of entrepreneurship; I started selling pencils and sweets when I was in grade 2. I enjoy making profits; I honestly love money. My goal is to own a supermarket and a farm in the next 4 years. I am currently selling perfumes, and I own a cash loan business named Mashasha Cash Loans. I have a passion for cooking, and I would like to believe I am a good cook. I enjoy running and swimming in my spare time.
