Mike Tuason recently moved back to Canada, his country of birth and is looking for new opportunities to pursue his career in the automotive and motorsports industry through racing team development and management, motorsports coaching, motorsports event management and production.
Mike Tuason the VP of Operations at Tuason Racing School back in the Philippines and a professional racecar driver for 23 years. He is the only driver from the Philippines who is both a circuit racing champion and drifting champion. He has joined several local and international racing events as well as coached drivers in Karting and Touring cars from 1993 to 2012 in the Philippines, Japan, Macau, Thailand, Indonesia, Italy and USA. Some achievements in karting are being the Cadet Champion 1993-94, ICA Champion 1997, Rotax Max Challenge Champion 2004, coached 2010 & 2012 Philippine Mini-Rok Champion. Touring Cars 1998 to 2013, Philippine Touring Car Championship (PTCC) Champion Class B 2008, Philippine Grand Touring Championship GT300 Champion 2010, coached the 2008 & 2010 PTCC Class C Champion. Raced Formula cars & Asian Formula 3 1999-2005, Pro-Am Lateral Drift Champion 2010.
He considers the 1997 Asia Zone kart race in the Philippines being the 1st Filipino to win an international kart race, the 2008 PTCC Races in the only diesel racecar in the Philippines and winning the 2010 1st Drift Race held in Clark International Speedway as his most unforgettable races.
However, as a race school instructor and driver coach, he learned that it is best to be able to communicate to the student and discuss things in a simple manner because you have to keep in mind that they are not yet in the same level of understanding compared to his experience. He has also become more mature and confident because of all the titles, race wins and experience under his belt. As the VP of Operations he makes sure all the race equipment is working properly and organizes logistics for races and events to ensure everything runs smoothly. He also handles racecar development for the school, the racing team and its client's own racecars. A very influential person for Mike as well as his brother JP was their late father, Arthur Tuason who always supported them with their racing career. “Without him we wouldn’t be where we are today, he has always taught us to give respect for each other”.
