Mubashar Choudry

Licensed to practice medicine in Maryland and the District of British Columbia, Dr. Mubashar Choudry works as an interventional cardiologist at his private practice in Rockville, Maryland. A regular speaker at international and national conferences on the topic of cardiology, Dr. Choudry has received a number of distinctions and honors throughout his career.

For four years, Dr. Mubashar Choudry served on the Presidential Commission on Drug-free Communities. President Bill Clinton appointed him to the position in 2000. Subsequently, in 2005, Dr. Choudry received an honor in Pakistan, his native country. The President of Pakistan awarded him the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) for his contributions and services in the fields of medicine and education. More specifically, Dr. Choudry assisted in the delivery of educational and healthcare services and supplies in Pakistan. The Sitara-i-Imtiaz is one of the most prestigious civilian awards in the country.

In addition to seeing patients at his interventional cardiology practice, Dr. Choudry works as Clinical Professor at George Washington School of Medicine, and Director of Washington Cardiovascular Institute. Among his numerous appointments, Dr. Mubashar Choudry serves as Chief Medical Officer of the Washington Cardiovascular Institute; President of the Medserve Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building hospitals in third-world countries and more; and President of Advanced Cardiology, a cardiovascular single specialty group located in Rockville. Dr. Choudry has held this last position for more than 20 years.

Dr. Mubashar Choudry holds certification in the subspecialty of cardiovascular disease from the American Board of Internal Medicine, and he obtained a Nuclear Cardiology License in 1991. Dr. Choudry completed his residency and fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, and holds an MBBS from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan.
