Mudasir Wani

Researcher, Natural Language Processing, and Teaching in Norway

Dr. Mudasir Ahmad Wani is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), Saudi Arabia. He specializes in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Social Cybersecurity, and Cognitive Computing. His research focuses on the extraction and analysis of social data and the development of predictive models to address real-world challenges using advanced statistical, machine learning, deep learning, and NLP techniques.

Prior to joining IMSIU, Dr. Wani worked as a Researcher in Natural Language Processing at Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia. He also served as a Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Information Security and Communication Technology (IIK) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, where he later conducted postdoctoral research at the Norwegian Biometrics Laboratory.

Dr. Wani is a recipient of the prestigious Alain Bensoussan Fellowship awarded by the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM), Sophia Antipolis Cedex, France. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India, in 2019. He holds a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and an M.Phil. in Data Mining from the University of Kashmir, India, obtained in 2012 and 2014, respectively.

His research contributions span social data analytics, misinformation and social cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cognitive computing, machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing, with a particular emphasis on developing intelligent systems for prediction, decision support, and real-world problem-solving.
