The Land of Fake Royalty and Terrible Roads

Once upon a time, I was Pre-Med and on the road to a fantastic career, solo and awesome. Then, one day, I tripped over my own two feet and landed diamonds down in a mud puddle. I met a man who offered to help me up, but instead, I pulled him in and wrestled him WWE-style until he submitted to my will.

A stay-at-home mom by way of unemployment, most of my time is spent making lunches, shuttling someone to one practice or another, debating the authenticity of Power Rangers and refereeing fights over Mario Kart. My kids are the most amazing part of me, and honestly surprise me on a daily basis. Sometimes, even in good ways, like not getting peanut butter in the carpet or randomly forgetting to tell me that the class trip money is due that morning when my husband has the check book. They are awesome and very much their own persons, despite the influences that surround them. I write to keep myself sane, though most of my work ends up in the Horror genre; I'm not quite sure what that says about my sanity. An avid Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Downton Abbey fan, I tend to find myself making dorky jokes and wishing I had a British accent. I am honest, challenging, sometimes irritating, and always looking for something to learn. I trip over my own feet more than I'd like to admit and, thanks to my stubbornness, OCD, land ass-over-tea kettle in a mess of one kind or another.

I have two short stories published (well, one to be published later this year) in the anthologies Ugly Babies and Cellar Door Vol. 2. I truly love the written word and am most definitely one of those people you see carrying a book everywhere. I ultimately wish to write for a living (I can think of honestly no better job; you get to live in your daydreams) and become a successful author. I have a novel in the works, hoping for it to someday be reviewed by The New York Times.
